< The start of the 250 storyline

Well, this is it.  It was a lot of fun making these comics and taking my characters off in a very different direction than usual, but next week we’ll be back to the normal dumb WoW jokes.  I mentioned on one comic that it took over 30 hours of work to pose, render, assemble, and finish.  Not all of them took as long as that, but most took multiple days of work.  I wish I could commit that much time to AFR every week, but alas the real world will not allow it.  This was a fun summer vacation project and I’m really glad I did it, but all thing must come to an end.

I want to extend my deep thanks to all of my readers for going along with this experiment.  I wouldn’t be doing this if it weren’t for you.  And a special thanks to everyone who’s left nice comments in the past few weeks (I love comments!)  I hope you’ve all enjoyed going along on this ride with me.

It’s still hard to believe that I’ve done 250 comics.  If I make it to 500, I have no idea what I’ll do to celebrate.

  1. Well, a brainstorm of what to do is, I guess, less cliché than a dream! Also… Mojitos? Man up Z!

    • Yeah, I know “it was all a dream” is the standard cop-out. Guilty as charged.

And hey, if mojitos are good enough for Sam Axe, they’re good enough for Zhanashkar!

  5. The ending with Gord and Alaxia reminded me of S6 Buffy with Xander and Evil Willow, but you did promise you were cribbing Whedon on this one, so good job!

    • Yep that was entirely deliberate. :)

  7. Floral pattern death knight armor is fairly hilarious (I swear by my pretty pink runeblade I will end you?), and if memory serves, Alaxia *did* enjoy exploring the dark side back in the SWTOR reference (granted, I played a sith pure light side myself, made for a fun change).

    Comment by SneaksyRanger — July 29, 2013 @ 11:33 AM

    • True, Alaxia has let her dark side out before. It’s not something we get to see very often. (About as often as death knights in Hawaiian shirts.)

  10. First time poster, but read all your comics, all the in the space of like, a month since I first saw it on wow insider, while entertaining the serious deviation kind of made me feel like the comic was taking a turn that I did not like, Kind of relieved to see it back to normal.

    • Yeah, don’t worry, we’re back to the silly stuff now. :)

  11. *applause*

Considering the effort, time and care you put into this, I’m not the least bit bothered by the ending since the ride was enjoyable with plenty of great wee moments.

Also I don’t know what’s worth it for the punchline – Thizz’s satisfied storytelling grin or Zan’s fabulous hawaiian transmog ^^

Congratulations on making it this far, and thankyou for sticking in for all these issues =D

    Comment by Cromdale — August 5, 2013 @ 9:57 AM

    • Thank you so much! (I can tell you I spent a long time carefully posing Thizzible’s self-satisfied story-telling face to get it just right.)
