Here begins the AFR Cataclysm retrospective! Check in every day between now and the Mists of Pandaria launch for more short comics.

It took most of the expansion for me to realize that Archaeology is everything that was wrong with vanilla WoW concentrated and turned into a profession.  I’ve enjoyed it a bit more since then, since at least now I know why it’s so awful.

  1. Ah, but it was a nice distraction while watching TV. I really wanted to be a dragon, so my alchemist levelled from 80-85 by digging holes. The only quests I did were those needed to open up zones, everything else was digging. Point your flying mount in the right direction, watch tv for a few minutes, dig three holes, repeat until you have the recipe!

[Yes, I am that sad – I levelled my druid the same way, except picking flowers and mining ore while watching TV…]

    • My alchemist did pretty much the same, but I never got the vial. I listened to old WoW Insider and Wait Wait, Don’t Tell Me podcasts to while away the time.

  2. Archy is good for days when you’ve got a bunch of stuff to do but need breaks in between…like doing laundry….or dishes….or cleaning in general.

During November, I’ll hop on a DPS character and put him/her in a dungeon queue then write while I’m waiting for the dungeon to pop. That’s a good 25 minutes of writing time!
