In Cataclysm, Thrall completed his transformation from warchief of the Horde into all-devouring lore tumor.

  1. The further lore on Thrall was a bit much, but at least it was interesting, and he’s a positive role model for the Horde, as well as Horde-Alliance relations. Aggra, though, felt like a total Mary Sue. Where’s that long-awaited Thrall x Jaina love story that EVERYONE has been expecting since, well, the game launched? Way to throw interracial ties out the window for the hackneyed “don’t date outside of your species” trope. *Sadface.* 😦

(*SPOILER ALERT!* And Jaina hooked up with Kalecgos after the fall of Theramore? I… What?…)

    • Jaina and Thrall had the potential to throw the Horde vs. Alliance storyline for some interesting loops, playing on the Romeo and Juliet paradigm but with two intelligent and powerful political leaders rather than a pair of lovedumb teenagers. It’s sad to see that possibility go out the window. Though Thrall has never been an interesting character to me, I do regret that they didn’t allow his character to derail the Alliance/Horde march to war in the way that he could have.
