Welcome to January, hangover of the year.

  1. Lunar Festival. Don’t forget about the otherwise forgotten Lunar Festival. 😉 It’s a tiiiiiny bit more in January than it is in February. When it actually is in January. x) (As it seems to kind of migrate around)

    • Yeah, the lunar festival is nice enough and all, but long hours of slogging through the back woods to talk to old people just doesn’t have the same appeal as drunk ram racing or getting presents under an axe-laden tree.

  2. January and August… at least August is in grill/beach season, but dang. After the lights and glitter and glitz of December, January seems even darker than normal which was plenty dark enough.

    • August is like a nice long lazy afternoon with nothing to do. January is like getting up at four in the morning when the heat is down and the lights are all out.

  3. One would say that January is the Monday of the Year?

    • Monday morning, at least. February isn’t much of an improvement.

(“… for such a beastly month as February, twenty-eight days as a general rule are plenty…”)

      • At least February has chocolate!

      • Hooray for chocolate!
