Yeah, so apparently I’ve decided that Blizzard is a big blue dot with an attitude.  /shrug

I’m really happy that Blizzard has changed its mind about things like player housing and revisiting Outland.  I’m looking forward to seeing how they’ll handle both of those things.  I’m not terribly excited about 90-boosts, but I’ve got nothing against them either.  On the whole, I’d say Blizzard is on the right track for the next expansion.

But Blizzard has been saying for years now that they want to get expansions out on a faster schedule.  All through Mists they were doing a great job getting patches out quickly.  It’s a little jarring now to face potentially being stuck in the same content for over a year.

  1. I think Blizzard just need to perfect the art of the filler patch. Something at least somewhat dynamic and won’t get mind-numbingly stale as quickly as Timeless Isle did (perhaps something like Rift, as it isn’t like mmos don’t shamelessly rip each other off already, seeing as SWTOR sent out emails about player garrisons coming out. Wonder where that idea came from?). I don’t think TI was awful, but after running alts around on the treasure chest run or achievements on a main, does anyone seriously go back there regularly?

Also, I am not terribly distressed by the delay. I am sort of bored with WoW currently, although being able to crossrealm pug normals helps, but after the clustermess that was Cataclysm, or some of the sloppier patches of Mists that resulted in some fairly fecal content for the Alliance, a delay to make sure things are better isn’t all that bad in my eyes.

    • Yeah, I’d appreciate some more content to keep us going between now and the fall, but I understand Blizzard putting their focus on Warlords right now.

  2. Yep. I’m already tired of Ogrimmar. Looking forward to my my new house, I mean garrison.

    • I’m not raiding in this expansion, and even I’m tired of Siege of Orgrimmar.
