AFR #286 – Distaff dissed

<<First comic <Previous comic | Next comic> Latest comics>>

If you’re a female lore figure in World of Warcraft, expect to have your family and friends brutally slaughtered in front of your eyes.  It’s a rite of passage, like getting your driver’s license.

Even Donna, the little girl in Stormwind, is on her own child-sized version of a rampage of revenge against William for stealing her dolly.  It’s like Blizzard doesn’t know what else to do with female characters.  (Other than, of course, have them pop out a baby or two and then disappear entirely.)

  1. Moira FTW

  2. Less sinister than Moira is Shandris Feathermoon. She whooped up on Cho’gall, but wasn’t revenge or even really a rampage (now if only we had Linda Richman of ‘Coffee Talk’ to set it up for us as a topic to discuss).

    • There was Fiona as well. She did point a gun at the bad guy at the end, but don’t remember her fighting.

      • Good points, too.

  3. OH GODS, YES. Someone ELSE has noticed that!! You’d think by now that the Game Developers & Companies would realize that half their player base IS female…with money of our own to spend (I mean, I spend more on games than my husband does)…and start focusing on realistic, engaging female stories. And NOT popping out babies, either — man, I’ve been wanting to shove Aggra over a cliff ever since running into her in Cata.

    *applauds AFR*

    • Thank you, glad to know there’s someone else out there who’s noticed this and been bugged by it.

  4. It would seem such a grave offense that I wouldn’t be surprised if Alaxia went on a rampage of revenge.

    • No one knows how she suffers!
