AFR #109 – Midnight

I wasn’t actually there at midnight on Tuesday.  I’ve grown too old to stay up all night playing WoW; I need my sleep.  (Plus, I was up early in the morning on Monday to make pizza for a departmental party, but that’s another story.)  So, I can’t speak from any experience about what it was like at 12:01 Tuesday morning, but I feel pretty sure that the population of Gilneas skyrocketed in those first few minutes.

I haven’t even started my worgen character yet.  I’ve been holding back to let the initial wave go by, but you can be sure that it won’t be long before another furry face joins the wolfpack roaming Azeroth.  (And no, I will not be naming my worgen any of the names shown in that last panel– although if there were such a thing as a bard class I would so have a worgen bard named Rolf.)

  1. Not certain about the Gilnean side of things on Tuesday at 12:01 (I didn’t roll a worgen until the following day), but in Kezan this is spot on. Fortunately, respawn rates were very low to accommodate all of those level 1 green-skinned bringers-of-doom, but yeah…trying to locate the quest-giver was definitely an exercise in futility at times!

  3. my god… I’m afraid Gilneas is unsaveable… It’s time we launched a joint Horde/Alliance nuclear strike to rid the world of this evil once and for all!

ya know, I haven’t really seen too many droves of goblins. are they not as popular as wolfmen? idk, I still like the little green buggers.

    • I thoroughly enjoyed the quest chains from 1 to 10-ish on the goblin side of things. They were fun, silly, exciting…and yeah, I’m gonna really enjoy my Jersey-girl green-skinned warlock from hell in the coming months! I’ve never rolled a warlock above level 35, but she’s gonna be the one, I believe!

Now, worgen-side of things? Are these opening quests ever going to end? Seriously! It draaaaaaags – there’s no humor, it’s all SRS BZNS and Bram Stoker meets Blizzard. My druid is pretty cool and all, but…damn! And seriously, what’s with that annoying lurching run? Draenei don’t have that problem and they’re built in pretty much the same way! Can we please have a run that is smoother, Blizzard? My druid is gonna get motion sickness!
