I don’t know if its like this for anyone else, but my experience of the Timeless Isle is filled with announcements that certain rares are up, then, before I can even mount up to go check it out, announcements that the rare in question is down.  I don’t think I’ve actually made it in time for one yet.

  1. In other words, the mobs are undertuned… or the players are just not showing the courtesy of waiting for a minute or two like on Thunder Isle… or there are so many rares that the waiting is almost pointless? Not sure what the cause is, but it sounds like a mess!
    Meanwhile… Gord: 100%. Gord: 0%! Motivation gone!

    • I do believe that most of the rare mobs are slightly undertuned for the groups of characters that hit them.with the exception of the followers of Ordos and the Archerius, the Kilnmasters alone can one shot my characters. Of all the rares Evermaw takes the longest to down but a lot of that is because you spend so much time chasing it around the Isle! The 4 Celestials however are tuned just about right, they make for a nice length battle and can take down multiple characters at once.

To me it seems like the rares all want to pop at the same time or one will pop at one end of the Isle and almost immediately another will pop at the other end, plus the fact that you sometimes have to fight so many elites on the way to a rare especially up on the section where most of the followers or Ordos hang about.

    • I don’t know if the mobs are undertuned or if there have just been more people on the island than expected when I’ve been there. Either way, I suppose, it comes to the same thing in the end. I guess it is better for the mobs to be tuned a little low, so they won’t be impossible for people who want to go back and spend time on the Timeless Isle when it’s no longer the hot new thing.

  2. I don’t mind if people don’t want to wait on killing a rare. That’s totally their right to do so. I just take issue when they run that dumb addon or make an announcement of an extremely low health rare, and then proceed to hit all their cds and blow it up in 10 seconds. The worst I’ve seen was someone announcing Garnia, and then 20 seconds later announced it was dead. Even an engineer or someone with another means of slowfall can’t get up there that fast.

    • I certainly don’t blame anyone for tackling the mobs they see when they see them. It’s the constant chat-spamming by add-ons that exhausts me.

  3. Try it on a badly balanced PvP realm (e.g., all of them). You can’t get there no matter how long you might have.

    • That sounds pretty horrible. 😦

  4. Yeah, you basically need to be camping a specific mob if you want it — something like Leafmender can die in about 5 seconds from one playing without them even trying. Would be nice if rare mobs had a buff called “Timeless Shroud” that prevented them from being attacked for one minute after spawning or something.

    • “Timeless Shroud” is not a bad idea.
