I regret to announce that this is the end.

Well, not quite yet.

I have said before that as long as I have jokes to tell, I’ll keep making AFR.  I have now run out of jokes, and so AFR is coming to an end.  I have one last story to tell, and I’m going to take my time telling it, so it’ll be a few months yet before the very last comic appears, but we’re on our way.

It’s been a amazing experience making AFR.  I never ever expected it to go on this long or to get such an enthusiastic response from so many people.  I’m going to miss all of you, but it’s time for me to move on with my life and work on other things.

Thanks for reading.  I’ll see you next week.

    • Thanks! I’m drifting away from WoW, which is probably why I’m running out of WoW-related jokes. I still have a fondness for the game, it just isn’t what I feel like playing these days.

      • I’ve been drifting away since garrisons, and admitted, its been a shift from The Horde to Animal Crossing, but I understand the feeling.

  2. I just went from stage 3 grief (Bargaining: There’s always more jokes to make! Come on!) to stage 5 (Acceptance: He’s clearly thought about this and this is what he wants.)

I’ll miss AFR when you do close up shop. At least we get one final storyline to go out on.

    Thanks for all the laughs!

    • Thank you, it’s been wonderful to have such great fans. You’ve made it all worthwhile.

  3. Awwww, man, this is one of my favorite strips, even if I don’t comment a lot.

And just like everyone else…you’ll drop it for a week or two, and then the jokes’ll start coming back with a vengeance. Sometimes all you need is a bit of time-off to get your perspective. Besides, WoW has so much in common with other games that you’ll find jokes & funny stuff that’ll fit no matter where you end up. 😉

    • Aw, thank you, you’re awfully kind. There have been times before when I didn’t feel like I could keep going, and it’s been fans like you who have brought me back to make more comics.

The time is right, though, to wrap things up, and I want to take the time to do it well. I want to leave my characters in a good place, and I think all of you who have kept coming back week after week to read my latest deserve a proper end. So, we’re not done yet, not by a ways, but the end is coming.

  4. I’ll miss the adventures of Gord & the gang — but when it’s time to move on, it’s time to move on. Thanks for all the chuckles and giggles and amusement 😀

    • It’s been a real pleasure. I’ve said it before, but the best part of making AFR has been having wonderful fans like you. Thanks for being here!
