The pre-Pandaria patch has really shaken things up, though more for some classes than for others.  It’s too early to know how things will really shape up, but it’s awfully confusing to be playing a warrior or a bear druid these days.  On the other hand, that’s what paladins go through every two years.  Rogues, though?  The most change rogues see from expansion to expansion is: “Hey, some of the stuff I used to have to carry around in my bag has gone gray.  Oh well, off to the vendor, then I can get back to stabbing things.”

  1. Honestly, I don’t see much of a difference with my bear. I’m going to have to macro in Savage Defense (wtf why is it not a passive anymore?) to stuff, and Lacerate now has a CD…but that just means using Thrash more often, I guess.

And lol, that about sums it up for rogues. I don’t even have to buy poisons anymore! *cackle*

    • Some classes have changed a lot more than others. My rogue feels the same as ever, but I don’t even recognize my warrior any more. I find my bear somewhere in between– all the stuff is familiar, but it works just a bit differently.

      • My priest didn’t change much with healing (though WTF we’re all smite priests now? whatever, blizz, whatever), but I guess the shadow rotation is a lot different/a lot more fun. I just haven’t gotten there yet. 😀

      • I actually did some shadow priesting last night and EEESH! When the boss is at 20% or lower, my bars light up like Christmas! I don’t know what shiny to push first!

  2. Trying to figure out how to divide my rage and gcds between my attacks and the “active defense” abilities is going to take me a while. But, yes, I expect no sympathy from paladins.

    • I’m sure we’ll all get used to the changes in time, but it’s going to take some practice. In the meanwhile, the paladins of the world can just lean back and say: “Holy power, man. Holy power.”

  3. … feeling… broken… again… (Imma paladin, a protection one)
Also, am I the only one who finds Thizzible creepy in that picture? (“No, mister Gord, I want you to tank!”)

    • Yeah, that looks like Thizz’s “evil scheming” face. Now she just needs to find herself a white kitten.

  4. Yup. My husband facepalm’d at yet another change to all Paladin specs, and my friend’s Hunter wept quietly into his beer, but my Rogue just looked in her bags and noticed that all of her poisons had turned grey and become a spiffy pop-out tab on the action bar. Also, that she had gotten a cool new AOE finishing move. (I still remember when I had to craft all of my own poisons, so this amuses the merry hell out of me.)
